Marlon CST Heatguard Improves Heat Detection at Plane Trees Farm, Lancashire

Andrew Bullock farms 140 acres near Chaigley, Lancashire, in partnership with his brother Stewart, running 110 cows in milk alongside 550 finishing pigs. After hearing that Marlon CST Heatguard kept sheds cooler and let in far more natural light, the Bullocks fitted it on two buildings — one new build, one refurbishment of an existing shed.

How Marlon CST Heatguard Improved Heat Detection

Since installing Heatguard, Andrew has seen a clear lift in milk yield and improved bulling activity in the building. The extra daylight has changed how the shed is used day to day — checks no longer mean reaching for the light switch, and the building itself is noticeably cooler than before.

“The Marlon CST Heatguard from Brett Martin has definitely increased milk yields and bulling activity in the building. Now when we walk into the building to do the checks, we’re not reaching for the light switch, and it’s such a nice environment when you walk in there. It’s certainly a lot cooler than what it was before.”

Would He Recommend It?

“We’d definitely recommend the Brett Martin Heatguard sheets to everybody else — I’ve actually done so as well.”
